“Newsletter of Precarpathian University. Philology” is one of the oldest scientific periodical publications that launched other professional series. The first issue of the philological “Newsletter” was released exactly 20 years ago, in 1995. Its editor-in-chief was professor Volodymyr Hryhorovych Matviyishyn (1936−2011), the famous Ukrainian literary scholar, Doctor of Philological Sciences. Today the editorial board of the “Newsletter” is headed by Stepan Ivanovych Khorob, the Ukrainian scholar of literary and theatrical studies, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Habilitated Doctor of Philology, Professor, Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine. Under his guidance there have appeared several dozens of this scientific edition. At present there have come out approximately 50 issues, in which more than 1,5 thousand of linguistic and literary scientific researches of both professors, associate professors and PhD seekers of the state higher educational institution “Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University” and of scholars from other educational establishments from the country and the diaspora were printed/
Since the time of the first issues of the philological “Newsletter” the editorial board has been focusing their attention on the urgent problems of the contemporary Ukrainian linguistic, theoretical-literary as well as historical-literary science, questions of general and comparative linguistics, comparative and foreign literature, literary criticism, etc. Now the editorial board of the “Newsletter” includes outstanding modern scientists – academician of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Philology, Professor Vitalii Kononenko, Doctor of Philology, Professor Volodymyr Barchuk, Doctor of Philology, Professor Mariia Holianych, Doctor of Philology, Professor Roman Holod, deputy editor-in-chief, Doctor of Philology, Professor Vasyl Greshchuk, Doctor of Philology, Professor Ihor Kozlyk, Doctor of Philology, Professor Mykola Lesiuk, Doctor of Philology, Professor Svitlana Lutsak, Doctor of Philology, Professor Nataliia Maftyn, Doctor of Philology Roman Pikhmanets from the state higher educational institution “Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University”, foreign members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professors Stefan Kozak (Warsaw, Poland) and Leonid Rudnytskyi (Philadelphia, USA).
